About Russell

Meet Russell Horowitz, a dedicated International Relations major with the passion and vision to lead LIU's Student Government as President. Russell brings both academic rigor and proven leadership skills to this role. From an early age, he has sought out opportunities to make a difference, serving in student government throughout high school and contributing to numerous school boards. These experiences helped shape his reputation as a dedicated leader who values collaboration and the pursuit of positive change. Russell‚ studies have instilled in him a deep understanding of diplomacy, negotiation, and consensus-building‚ skills he will use to bridge gaps between students, faculty, and administration. Beyond his political enthusiasm, Russell is a highly accomplished musician and a proud member of the campus community. As a skilled trumpet player, he performs with both the Jazz and Wind Ensembles, demonstrating his dedication to teamwork, discipline, and the arts. He is ready to amplify the student voice, ensure every student is heard, and deliver a more vibrant, united campus experience.
