Vote In The SGA Elections!!
In order to join SGA as a Senator, you must obtain a minimum of 15 signatures using the Signature Form from currently enrolled LIU students.
Each signature will be verified by the SGA. You must collect every students full name, LIU email, and students ID number.
This form may be filled out electronically, or printed to be written out. If printed, a scan of the completed document it preferred, but a clear picture of the document will also be accepted.
2. After obtaining the required signatures, you must submit your Application Form (Also Found Below).
The Application will ask for your Name, LIU Email Address, Resume, and Cover Letter.
Cover Letter: The cover letter will be a brief letter to introduce yourself and why you're interested in SGA. This letter should be around 200-400 words and may include past work experiences, what you would like to accomplish in SGA, etc.
Resume: This will be where you list off previous accomplishments and work experience. This will be less in depth in comparison to the cover letter.
3. After receiving your Application, we will reach out to you to schedule an interview with the E-Board. Our E-Board currently meets every Wednesday directly after the General Body Meeting in the SGA President's Office located on the Third Floor of Hillwood within the conference room. If this time does not work for you, we will do our best to find a time that does.
4. After completing an interview with the E-Board, you will be required to interview in front of the Senate at our weekly SGA General Body Meeting. Currently, meetings are held every Wednesday at 5 PM in the Gold Coast Cinema.
During this interview, you will introduce yourself on stage and explain why you would like to be in SGA. You will then be asked questions by the SGA Senators who will then vote on your approval.
5. You have an obligation to be at the weekly SGA General Body Meetings as well as weekly Committee Meetings of the committee you are assigned. If you cannot meet this obligation, you may not join SGA or if you have already been voted in there will be a Bill of Impeachment brought up against you if you do not officially step down.
